postheadericon Angry Ex Bashes in Woman’s Door, Gets Greeted by the Equalizer

TULSA, OK — When one man threatened the life of a former girlfriend, he likely thought that he could do so with impunity, or at the very least didn’t care.

However, thanks to the mighty equalizer, he was both apprehended and will soon face some serious justice.

As News on 6 reports:

Police got the call around 11 p.m. Friday night near Pine and Peoria. The man, later identified as William Easley, was found lying in the driveway with bullet wounds in the arm and chest.

The victim told police the two had a fight and the man sent text messages saying he was going to come over and kill her. She says she shot him with a handgun after he kicked in the door.

It’s amazing what some men think that they can get away with saying to women — especially when they happen to be bigger or stronger than the women they’re trying to menace.

Unfortunately for him, she had an equalizer.

Actually, it may be good for him. After he recovers from his wounds, if he ever fully recovers, he might just learn that he can’t threaten people with murder and expect for his day to go on like nothing happened.

This isn’t the first time that we’ve reported on women defending themselves with firearms. It won’t be the last.

In a world that is perpetually filled with broken people, it’s inevitable that threats like Easley will emerge.

It’s up to us, the responsibly-armed men and women of America, to keep them in check by properly defending ourselves.

postheadericon Entitled Burglar Barges Into Home, Gets Shot, Cries “Daddy!”

LAKE WORTH, FL — In a very confusing turn of events, a homeless woman was found to be in the middle of events that resulted in one man shot and another one stabbed, according to the Palm Beach Post.

That woman reportedly called her friend early this month and said that she’d been punched by a man by the name of Gary Steven White outside of a rental community managed by his father. White’s father claimed that his son and the homeless woman were arguing about her alleged drug use near the rental community.

After the call the homeless woman made, things devolved quickly.

According to the Palm Beach Post:

“Moments after the call, the woman’s friend heard a noise outside his home on North M Street, just west of North Federal Highway.

“The man opened his door and saw two men outside the fence. The younger man, the 47-year-old White, entered the home, despite the resident’s orders to stay outside.

“The resident shot White in the abdomen. White screamed for his “daddy,” records state.

“‘Daddy, he shot me,’ White reportedly yelled.

“His father came running. The older White and the resident struggled over the gun, the resident said, and eventually the resident threw down the firearm.

“The resident felt a pain in his back. He then realized he was being stabbed, the police report said.

“The father grabbed his son, put him in the car then picked up the gun. The elder White told police he did so no one else would be shot.

“He drove nearly three miles south to his home near Lantana Road and Dixie Highway and called 911.”

Both White and the resident were taken to different hospitals, and White will be facing charges of attempted homicide and burglary with assault, according to the Palm Beach Post.

What a nightmare story.

postheadericon Man Robs Two People, Shoots One, Then Gets Shot With His Own Gun By The 2nd Victim

DALLAS, TEXAS — In a harrowing brush with a death, a man who was shot by a robber attacked the man who shot him, got his gun, and shot him dead, according to Dallas News.

Toshumbre Austin, age 33, thought that he could do whatever he wanted to two victims without repercussions.

Not so.

Austin approached two men with the intention of robbing them.

He shot one and pistol-whipped another — and the one he shot fought back. He got the firearm, and shot Austin dead.

Afterwards, he himself was taken to the hospital, where he was reportedly in stable condition.

Dallas News reports that Police will refer this particular case to a grand jury to determine if any charges are warranted.

There better not be.

Let’s think for a second about how brave this man had to have been to have been shot then fought back for his life.

The guy started at a disadvantage, leveled the playing field, then won the battle for his life.

For crying out loud — why are charges even being considered?

Don’t get me wrong — sometimes people can be zealous in the application of justice. But even the man pistol-whipped was in a place where he could be using deadly force to defend himself.

postheadericon Early Morning Heist At The Bellagio Gets Tense When Suspects Can’t Start Their Car

LAS VEGAS, NEVADA — It’s been a busy day on the Las Vegas strip after armed robbers sacked a Rolex store inside the Bellagio Hotel and Casino. Three men are believed to be connected to the event and they began their robbery at approximately 1:30 a.m. and used sledgehammers to smash the glass encasing the Rolex watches.

Guests and visitors, according to CNN, were not hurt during the incident itself but after the robbers escaped to the parking garage to get their vehicle, the vehicle failed to stop. This prompted them to attempt to carjack a vehicle.

The men were wearing suits and at least one had a pig mask on. They have not been identified at this point but one of them is believed to be in custody.

Las Vegas police were extremely quick to respond and within moments, locked down portions of the strip around the Bellagio.

One of the most recognized casinos on the strip, the Bellagio has a staunch no firearms policy for guests and visitors. In fact, most every hotel and casino I’ve heard of that’s one the strip doesn’t allow firearms to be carried in by guests and visitors.

The way they allay those concerns is by having added armed security and police which are traditionally fast to respond to incidences. However, no armed service can guarantee safety. These robbers weren’t likely looking for a fight so much as to snag those watches.

In instances like that, stay out of it. Take cover. Find a place to barricade yourself until police arrive. I’m basically ascribing the same policies I’d use in an event that happened later that same day on the strip. That involved a lone individual who shot and killed one person and severely injured another. He surrendered to police later this afternoon after they cordoned him off.

As concealed carriers, we’re obliged to follow the law. That means when a private establishment says ‘no firearms allowed’, then, unfortunately, we have to abide so long as that signage is alongside the intent of state law.

We have to rely on our situational awareness and good planning to figure these things out. Because this event happened at 1:30 a.m., most of the patrons in the casino were likely more than a little inebriated. This creates a static chaos as people’s inhibitions are lowered and their judgement is impaired. Thankfully, everyone pretty much stayed low and stayed safe.

Gun free zones, man. Gun free zones…

postheadericon Stalker Shows Up To Victim’s Home, Opens Fire — Gets Hit In Return Fire By One Of The Occupants

LOS ALTOS HILLS, CALIFORNIA — A man from Georgia approached the doorstep of a home where a woman was seeking shelter. The family living at that home saw him approach with a handgun drawn and reported it to authorities. The suspect forced his way into the home and opened fire on her and at least two other residents before one of the residents returned fire. The assailant, 43-year-old William Brady III, was wounded in the exchange.

Local sheriffs deputies found the suspect lying on the ground with a gunshot wound, according to Mercury News. The woman was staying with the residents and she reported that she knew Brady was stalking her. The male resident of the home saw him approaching with a gun drawn and retrieved his own to protect himself and the other residents. Deputies are treating this case as self-defense and no charges are expected.

Brady’s handgun was recovered as evidence and he was admitted to a local hospital to receive treatment for his wounds. He is expected to be charged with attempted murder.

The woman allegedly sought a restraining order against Brady back when she was in Georgia but there is no confirmation a restraining order was ever issued. In Santa Clara County, an emergency protective order was sought for her and the residents of that home and it was granted.

This is why we keep presenting one simple point. If you have reason to believe someone is or may become a threat to you or your household, seek a protective order or restraining order. It’s a paper trail that helps assist law enforcement and it acts as an additional legal blow against your aggressor should he or she violate the conditions of that order.

The hardest thing for people to do is make the right determination whether a restraining order is warranted. It’s scary. It’s like admitting that there is a real threat to your life whereby perhaps you can just ignore that threat by not getting a restraining order. Don’t do it.

Ignoring the red flags of someone who may be mentally unstable and violent towards you comes at your own peril.

This woman followed the right steps and thankfully, when Brady showed up, there was someone in the home with a firearm that could resist him. If there hadn’t been, Brady was clearly intent on murdering the residents of that home as well as his intended victim.

Be safe. Take the proper precautions against a potential threat. Don’t take chances and carry a firearm everyday, everywhere you can. Even California begrudgingly gets it. Your life is worth it.

postheadericon Truck Owner Tries To Stop Car Thief, Gets Knife Pulled On Him — Has A Gun

YOUNGSTOWN, OHIO — When a man saw a car thief attempting to break into his truck, he did what most people would instinctively do when they see their property being wrongfully taken: stop the thief. The thief had other plans.

According to WFMJ, the car thief allegedly pulled a knife on the owner of the vehicle. But this owner doesn’t want to be a victim. He drew his handgun and shot the thief. The criminal ran — as they are wont to do — but he didn’t make it far. Police picked him up farther on down the street with a head injury.

The car thief lived and will likely face charges. The property owner didn’t suffer any injuries whatsoever and maintained his property.

Wow, win-win.

The point of carrying a firearm isn’t to kill people — it’s to protect life and, at worst case scenario, neutralize a threat. The gun owner neutralized the threat. He shot him when he saw that the thief was not going to back down from trying to take his property.

He didn’t follow it up or chase after the thief. The thief retreated. Good enough. Now, it is apparent the thief did suffer a pretty grievous wound but it’s unknown whether this was due to a gunshot or something else.

In either case, this guy handled the situation correctly. It’s his property and someone doesn’t have the right to walk up and take it. Heck, he even tried to de-escalate the conflict by trying to stop the thief.

It was the thief’s mistake to draw a knife.

Carry everyday, neutralize the threat.

postheadericon Why Situational Awareness Is Important: Concealed Carrier Shoots At Robber #1, Then Gets Gun Stolen By Robber #2

By Luke McCoy via USA Carry

Last Friday, a 29-year-old club promoter pulled up to his apartment in Pembroke Pines when a man then attempted to rob him. Instead of handing over what he had, he pulled his firearm and shot at the man 3 times. The victim did have a valid concealed weapons permit.

That’s when another man appeared and wrestled him to the ground. The two robbers proceeded to steal and run off with his jewelry, cellphone and his gun.

Police found blood at the scene so they think he did manage to hit one of the robbers so they are looking at local hospitals for anyone that sought medical treatment and fits the description.

While we do applaud the CCW holder for thinking fast and using his firearm to defense himself, we always need to be thinking about situational awareness. He obviously was not aware of another robber which was able to tackle him to the ground. Now, his legally owned firearm is in the hands of a criminal.

No one knows when you will be robbed or you wouldn’t put yourself in that situation in the first place. It may be hard to stay in Condition Yellow at all times. You may just be getting off of work, tired and just want to get inside and hit the bed. But this leaves you vulnerable.

While we don’t know all of the details of this situation, it sounds like he was targeted and possibly followed. It is everyone’s right to own some of the finer things in life, such as the Porsche that this victim was driving. But just remember that fancy cars, jewelry, etc. can be flashy and attract the wrong type of people, in this case, a pair of robbers. If you choose to do so, this is all the more reason to keep yours head on a swivel and be aware of your surroundings.
