postheadericon Thug Shot In Both Legs By Homeowner During Burglary

ALBUQUERQUE, NM — When a homeowner encountered two thugs breaking into his own garage, he took the fight to them, and he did it quickly.

It resulted in two bullets, one in each leg, for one of the bad guys — pretty much putting an end to his budding cross-country career for the time being, at least.

As KOB 4 reports:

According to a criminal complaint, a burglary didn’t go as planned for Rodolfo Serrano-Urias. Things turned when he and friend broke into Warren Wild’s garage on Los Tomases Drive early Tuesday morning.

Police said Wild heard something and checked the garage. He had a .40 caliber Glock handgun. When he saw the men he fired one round to scare them away. That’s when the two took off.

But Serrano-Urias didn’t get far. According to the report, Wild shot Serrano-Urias in the back of the leg as he jumped over the fence in the backyard, but that still didn’t stop him. The suspect then took off down Sunset Avenue when the homeowner shot him in the other leg.

At least that’s what the suspect told police. According to the homeowner, he only fired at Serrano-Urias while he was in the backyard. He said he pulled the trigger to protect himself and his wife, who was also outside.

Police found Serrano-Urias in the middle of the street in front of the home with two gunshot wounds, one in each leg.

Once again, we see one of the worst practices in the firearms community: the warning shot.

Folks, if your firearm is out and you choose to fire, you need to be firing to neutralize a threat, not to make a point.

And, as this story bears out, this homeowner had to fire on at least one of the burglars anyway — it’s not worth it.

Firing a shot as a warning is rarely an aimed shot, and it’s often not a shot about which a shooter has thought that much. The odds of hitting something you really don’t want to go much higher.

Stay safe out there, folks.

postheadericon [VIDEO] Employee And Thug Exchange Gunfire In Smoke Shop Robbery Attempt

DURHAM, NORTH CAROLINA — A store clerk was shot in the arm during a gunfire exchange with a masked robber, and the clerk’s being armed likely saved his life.

In a world where some people will do anything to get some money, it’s only fair –and right– to arm ourselves against them.

The story goes as follows;

Authorities said a man wearing a mask entered the Smoke 4 Less shop on Avondale Drive at about 8 p.m. on Sept. 28 and fired a shot at an employee, who returned fire.

The employee sustained a gunshot wound to his arm, and the man fled without taking anything.

About 30 minutes later, police officers responded to an armed robbery at a Hardees at 4607 South Alston Avenue in which a man with a gun entered the restaurant and demanded money, authorities said.

It isn’t known whether the same person was responsible for both incidents, but I don’t believe in coincidence. It’s very likely that the same person is to blame, and lends more credit to the fact that he was desperate to get money from someone… somewhere.

After being in one gun battle, he had some pretty fearless actions as far as going to another location. It’s this determination that warrants the need for more armed citizens.

There was no mention on the clerk’s condition, but we hope that he makes a full recovery from his injuries.

As a side note, it appears in the video that the clerk needed to rack the slide to chamber a round. Whether it was a malfunction or not may never be known, but it’s a good exercise to see if you’d be ready to rack the slide in a stressful situation. Some will fumble, some will fail, and others will make the action happen as smooth as butter.

It’s part luck, but mostly training.

It also appears that the clerk saw the danger coming and had the firearm in-hand before the thug entered the shop door. That’s important right there, as he seems to have been aware of what was about to happen.

postheadericon Home Invader Shot Multiple Times, Learns The Thug Life Sucks

CHICAGO, ILLINOIS — A man in his 40’s, which is too old to be breaking into homes, was quickly stopped when the homeowner opened fire as he tried to break in.

Local media reports;

A 44-year-old man suffered multiple gunshot wounds to the body at 10:54 p.m. as he was trying to break into a home in the 4500 block of South St. Lawrence, according to Chicago Police.

The homeowner told investigators that he opened fire after the man forced his way into the home with a crowbar, police said. The suspect then jumped into a vehicle, which fled to Mercy Hospital. The man was expected to be transferred in critical condition to Stroger Hospital.

There isn’t a whole lot more to say about this story, except for this; What I don’t understand with thugs is the following:

  • They think they’re tough
  • When faced with an armed ‘victim’, they run
  • That makes them not so tough
  • Then, they want medical attention after being shot

A true thug would go home with his bullet wounds and pull the bullets out himself after chugging some hard liquor to dull the pain. That’s true thug life. But alas, these criminals are pansies and want proper medical attention so they don’t die. What kind of thug is that?

postheadericon The Tables Turn With A Gun In The Hand; Thug With Box Cutter; 0, Armed Citizen; 1

ST. LOUIS, MISSOURI — A man with a (bad) plan ended up in the hospital, because his plan involved being a criminal and going up against an armed citizen. The thug life really is a hard life… we know.

Bad choices, bro. It’s choices like these that land you in the hospital and jail. Oh wait, let’s keep the story going and see what happened to the bad guy…

From local news station kmov.com;

A man who attempted to steal a car on Thursday night is now in the hospital after being shot by the car’s owner.

Police say the incident happened just before 10 p.m. at Lookaway Drive and Shepley Boulevard in St. Louis. According to police, a 56-year-old man discovered a 35-year-old man attempting to steal the victim’s car.

The suspect then lunged at the victim with a box cutter, but the victim shot the suspect in the leg in self-defense. The suspect was taken to a local hospital, and is listed in stable condition. The car’s owner was not hurt.

If there’s one thing that I never want to face, it’s a bad guy with a sharp object. Talk about dangerous. Knife attacks are brutal, and I’d rather face a guy with a gun any day.

I can also be fairly confident that I’d be on the phone with police instead of confronting the guy. Who knows, and I guess I never will unless I’m in the situation. I’m just as tired as the next guy with these criminals, but so many things can happen when you confront a suspect who isn’t posing you any imminent danger.

I’m not saying that this armed citizen did anything wrong at all, rather I find myself contemplating how I feel I would have handled the situation.

postheadericon Why We Carry: Woman Fatally Shot By Thug While Fleeing Home Invasion

BALTIMORE, MARYLAND — This is the type of tragedy we train to avoid: a woman was shot outside her home trying to flee armed men who broke in and demanded money and drugs, according to Baltimore Police. She was found less than a few feet outside her own front door with a fatal gunshot wound to the neck.

You can’t hope to negotiate with thugs. These guys remind me more of raiders from the Fallout video game series than people we’d expect to be walking the streets.

As WBAL TV recounts, the police are investigating the crime as a drug-related home invasion. We’ll never know the full story, though, because the home owner is dead and the criminals who killed her are loose on the street.

Just another day in “gun progressive” Maryland.

While publications like the Baltimore Sun continually tout Maryland’s gun laws as “progressive”, they still keep wondering why gun violence is such a big thing in their progressive city. As we’ve said multiple times, bad guys will find a way to get a gun. They don’t need to shop around online or find some shady private sale loophole like the anti-gun propaganda loves to talk about… They can find one off the street, probably stolen, and will have little remorse about using it.

This is why law-abiding people need fewer restrictions. Everyone has an inalienable right to self-defense and the constitutional specifically allows people to keep and bear arms at their own discretion. Creating barriers and obstacles hinder a person’s ability to defend him or herself in his own home. The apologetics used in defending these practices — which are arguably defined as discrimination — is abhorrent and needs to come to a complete stop.
